    The Comp Experience

    Unforgettable Moments, Unmatched Energy

I loved being able to cheer on my friends and watch them shine! The diversity of the performances was incredible and the creativity blew my mind. The atmosphere was relaxed enough that now I’m considering entering a competition!

    Aerial Addiction Audience Member

Registration was easy, instructors were clear. Felt supported by other competitors amd staff. Stage, lighting and sound was good! Loved the good vibes from other competitors backstage. I like this small group - definitely recommend for first time performers

SPIRIT OF THE COMPETITION AND SHOWMANSHIP

Aerial Addiction is a student competition created to give Aerial Divas students the opportunity to challenge themselves, perform on stage, experience the process of creating and performing a show, and have fun! We feel strongly about maintaining this purpose, so we ask for all students to enter the competition with this in mind. As competitors we want you to maintain the spirit of community and understand how important it is to be kind and supportive to one another, and importantly yourselves. The judges’ decision is final and anyone found to be bringing the decision or the competition into disrepute may be deemed unable to compete in future events, as would unsportsmanlike bad behaviour in the lead-up to and on the night of the event.

    Sensitive Content Policy

Performances containing sensitive content must be submitted for organiser approval when you submit your competitor survey. If you are unsure if your routine contains sensitive content, please reach out to us at comps@poledivas.com.au so we can have a discussion with you.

If approved, a trigger warning will be announced by the MC before the performance, giving the audience the opportunity to decide whether they wish to watch.

Sensitive content includes, but is not limited to:

    1. Mental health
    2. Sexual assault
    3. Disability
    4. Self-harming behaviour and/or suicide
    5. Eating disorders
    6. Hate speech or strong abusive language
    7. Violence, including domestic violence, stalking, abuse, torture and murder
    8. Depiction or discussion of discriminatory attitudes or actions, such as racism, homophobia or prejudice
    9. Drug, alcohol or substance abuse

    Prohibited Content

Regardless of artistic intent, the following will not be approved and may result in disqualification or removal from the competition:

Performances that display, promote, or incite hatred or discrimination — including racism, homophobia, transphobia, whorephobia, ableism, stigma against sex workers, or the sexualisation of minors — will not be approved.

    Music Policy

Music tracks can be a maximum length of:

    • 2.5 minutes for Beginner (ALL), Intermediate (Lyra) & Dance shows
    • 3 minutes for Intermediate Silks, Advanced (ALL), Elite (ALL) and Doubles

Music must not contain excessively explicit language. If you are unsure, please have it approved by the organisers prior to use. This rule is in place as Unleashed is a family friendly event and therefore content must be appropriate for minors.

Pole & Aerial Divas reserves the right to refuse or request the removal of any music at its discretion.

The use of music by certain artists is prohibited at all Pole & Aerial Divas competitions. This includes artists who have been convicted of, or subject to serious and documented allegations of, gender-based violence or abuse.

The current prohibited artist list is below and may be updated at any time. Competitors are encouraged to check the current list before finalising their music selection. If you are aware of any other artists that fit into this category, please let us know

This prohibition applies to any use of an artist's work, including features, collaborations, and remixes where they are a credited performer.

Current List: Chris Brown, Diddy, R Kelly, Tory Lanez, Marilyn Manson, D4VD.

Please note – we do allow competitors to have the same song, but we will do our best to ensure you are not close to each other in the run order for contrast.

Props and the use of glitter/confetti

The use of glitter or confetti as a prop is not permitted at any Pole & Aerial Divas competition. This applies to all forms, including but not limited to lose glitter, glitter spray, confetti cannons, and confetti throws.

Glitter on costumes or the body is perfectly fine.

This policy is in place to comply with venue requirements around cleanliness and pack-down.

Only props able to be taken on/off stage in under 30 secs by 1 person are allowed. Due to safety & storage issues, all props larger than a chair must be pre-approved, as well as props that require excessive clean up.

Human Props: Only 2 human props are permitted. Human props must not touch the apparatus and should be an integral part of your show.

Please email comps@poledivas.com.au to have your props and mess approved.

    Costume Policy

Aerial Addiction is a family-friendly competition and may have audience members under the age of 18. Costumes must be appropriate for an all-ages audience. G-strings and nudity are not permitted. Points will be deducted if you do not follow the costume requirements.

    Deadlines for information

You will be required to fill out your show information a few weeks prior to the show.  We use this information to help create the run order. No updates or changes to your show are to be made within 2 weeks of the event.

    Spirit of the competition

Pole & Aerials Divas events are designed to celebrate individuality, artistry, and the vibrant community that surrounds pole & aerials. We ask all competitors to enter our comps with this spirit in mind. We value kindness, respect, and support—towards each other and towards yourselves. Please note that the judges’ decision is final. Any behaviour—before or during the event—that disrespects fellow competitors, the judges, or the competition itself may impact your ability to participate in future Pole & Aerial Divas events. We are committed to fostering a positive and inclusive environment, and unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. Let’s keep our events a space where everyone feels seen, celebrated, and empowered.
