Dance Classes

Dance at Divas
At Divas, we believe movement is for everyone — every level, every style, every reason you walked through the door. Our adult dance classes cover everything from slow, sensual flow to full choreographed routines, and there’s genuinely something for everybody and every ability. Women 17+ welcome. Let’s find your thing.
Casual Vs Course
How Do You Want to Learn? When you look at our timetable you will see some of our dance classes are either casual OR taught over 2, 4, 8 weeks. Here’s the difference.
Courses - the routines in these classes are progressive, you build on the choreography each week to the same song. At the end of the course, you will have learnt a fully choreographed routine. Often the choreo taught in these classes is more complex as you are given more time to learn and execute it. Best suited to students with some dance experience.
Casuals - these are once off routines and a new routine and song is taught each week. These classes tend to be more beginner friendly and you can jump in at any point during a term.

Pole Dance Classes
Why We Have So Many Classes
A History LessonPole dancing didn’t start in a dance studio. It started in strip clubs in America — and that’s not something we shy away from at Divas, it’s something we’re proud of.
From the 1980s onwards, dancers in bars and clubs across North America were developing something genuinely extraordinary. Working around and on the pole as part of their performances, these women built an entire movement vocabulary from scratch — floor transitions, spins, climbs, sensual flow, character, and expression. They were artists and athletes, even if the world wasn’t ready to call them that yet.
By the 2000s, Pole had begun its migration into dance studios, driven largely by dancers who wanted to teach what they knew. As it spread, it evolved — picking up influences from contemporary dance, acrobatics, gymnastics, and burlesque along the way. New styles emerged. Competitions formed. An art form that had lived in dimly lit rooms started filling theatres and stadiums.
That evolution is exactly why we have so many different classes on offer today. Sensual and heels flow trace their lineage directly back to those club origins. Contemporary and lyrical draw from the dance world. Floorwork sits right at the intersection of all of it. Each style has its own history, its own community, and its own way of moving — and at Divas, you get to explore all of them.

Dance Styles at Divas
Find Your Flow at DivasEach location has a different timetable and may not offer all of the following classes, but below are all the different styles you might find at your local studio. We have listed them from easiest to more challenging.
Sensual Flow - a casual class where we slow things down and focus on how the movement feels in our body VS how it looks. This class is designed to get you in touch with your sensuality. It is simple moves repeated in sequences over and over to give you a great workout. No phones or filming allowed in this class.
Pole Moves - this is a our core casual class run at all locations. Learn a fully choreographed beginner friendly routine in heels. Think body rolls, knee pops, grinds. The fundamental Diva moves! New song each week. Some aerial locations run Aerial Moves as well. Check their timetables.
Pole Rock - generally taught as a progressive course, this class is similar to Pole Moves BUT it's always taught to a rock song. Think head rolls, heel clacks and living out your rock girl fantasy! Choreo can be faster paced and some dance experienceis recommended.
Lyrical - connect deeply with your emotions in this course, which emphasizes musicality and fluidity. Always taught barefoot and can be taught on Pole or in the Aerial rooms. This is the class where you feel all your feelings!
Poleography - a progressive dance course that is best suited to those with prior dance experience. Learn to flow around the pole with grace while wearing 8-inch heels. Some locations offer Poleography Foundations and this class is more beginner-friendly but still quite challenging, speak to your local studio before booking if you aren't sure if it's the right class for you!
Fierce Flow- this is another progressive dance course that is best suited to those with prior dance experience. The movement taught in this course is dynamic and requires a lot of strength through your arms and legs. Some locations teach a foundations version of this course as well.
Each studio will offer a variety of the above and may offer other dance classes as well. To see what classes your local studio offers, click the link below!
