Welcome to Adv Prep Silks! This progressive 8-week course will see you building up stamina and strength to perform even longer combos! You will learn some new and pretty climbs like Bicyle climb and the Sous-sus climb (just like a ballerina but up in the air on silks). A few classic crowd-pleasing drops like the slack drop and peter pan pirouette are also taught at this level.
It’s all about drops in intermediate silks. The endurance and strength you have built so far will prepare you to start incorporating drops such as flamingo front dives and hip lock front dives in your combos. You will also connect skills that you already know from the previous level such as cross-back straddle entry to belay. It is a level that will challenge your memory and strength.
Build on your foundations that you learnt in beginners silks and develop strength for inversions in preparation for the dynamic drops and more complex combinations found in Intermediate Silks This class explores more complex wraps and aerial combinations to help you develop stamina and confidence up high. Learn additional aerial setups for your invert and hiplocks, and complicated wraps around your body with the silks. Students will be introduced to rational drops and other strength based tricks. Over the term you will progress and learn some choreographed dances incorporating your silk.
Once you have mastered beginners spin, every student must be prepared for the challenges of intermediate by completing Intermediate Prep! This level will focus on building strength and stamina to nail and refine your invert, incorporating a series of conditioning and drills to do so. Learning leg hooks, hangs and back crucifix throughout the term, as well as learning new shapes and putting fun spins combinations together. The term will consist of four fun routines that will be taught within the eight weeks as well!

Use this 4/8 week course as your starting platform with contortion-based flexibility conditioning. You don’t have to already be mega bendy to benefit but experience in other stretch focused classes is advantageous. Learning the art of contortion will help to establish a greater mind/body connection, which in turn allows the body to move safely and effectively through a wider range of motions. This class incorporates a unique partner stretching and massage component, these techniques will provide a deeper level of stretch and relaxation – helping you reach into positions you previously thought impossible. The last part of the class gives students a opportunity to work on their favourite balances such as bridge variations, chest & elbow stands. This section can be tailored to meet each individual’s skill level and goals. Pre Requisites: Previous experience in a flexibility focused class. We would recommend doing a minimum of 1 term in Stretch Technique or similar before enrolling into this class.

This class is all about channelling your inner showgirl! Dancing to all the old school "banger" rock tracks, we are taking pole dancing back to it's roots with epic head rolls, body rolls, heels bangs and ALL THE GRINDING! Learn a new fully choreographed routine every week and work up an epic sweat while you have the most fun, keeping your clothes on! Open to all levels but some pole dance experience required. No experience necessary! Our beginners silks course is designed for women with no prior experience at all...and there is no fitness level requirement, anyone can join. Over the course you will learn how to wrap, spin and climb to new aerial heights. Our higly qualified aerial instructor will go through a series of conditioning exercises to help you gain the strength for more impressive moves down the track. In true Divas style, finish the class with a fun dance which incorporates the silk and the basic moves you have just learnt in class. Build your knowledge of foundation silks moves and prepare yourself for our inter prep Silks level.
