Aerial Addiction is back for 2025, our in-studio aerial competition. We want to give every student the opportunity to perform and 'get the feel' of what it's like to compete in an aerial competition and that's exactly what this competition is, a chance for anyone who wants to! Aerial Addiction will be held all Aerial Divas studios: Mornington, Richmond, Caroline Springs & Ringwood and you will be judged by your own Aerial Divas instructors. What better way to experience #complife than to experience the journey at your second home, where you feel most comfortable!!

• Caroline Springs - Friday 2nd May
• Richmond - Saturday 3rd May
• Mornington - Saturday 3rd May - doors 1:30pm, show starts 2pm

LYRA DIVISIONS

• Beginners - Beginners
• Intermediate - Intermediate
• Advanced - Advanced Prep & Advanced 
• Elite - Elite Prep & Elite

SILKS DIVISIONS

• Beginners - Beginners & Inter Prep
• Intermediate - Intermediate
• Advanced - Advanced Prep & Advanced

OPEN DIVISION

• Open Doubles - any level students, silks or lyra
• Fan Dance - only at Caroline Springs

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

• This is an Amateur level competition therefore if you have won a National Competition in the past 3 years you are not eligible. If you are unsure please speak with your studio.
• You must be a current term 2 student at the location you want to compete in. Students can compete in more than one Aerial Addiction if enrolled at that location.
• You will enter the level that you are in for Term 1 2025. 
• Instructors (from any studio) are not eligible
• Desk Divas CAN apply
• Cannot have been in the Semi Pro division of Miss Lyra
• Cannot have been in Rising All Stars or All Stars
• Doubles - your doubles partner does not have to attend the same Aerial Divas location as you but they must attend an Aerial Divas studio and be enrolled in term 2. 
• Please be aware that your tricks in Aerial Addiction must be suitable to the level you are competing in. Please clarify with your instructors and coaches. You will have points deducted if you include tricks above your level.

• First place winner for each division
• Dare Devil - Best Trickster
• Story Teller - Best Character Portrayal
• Show Pony - Best Overall Presentation
• All winners will receive a SASHIE and prize packs which will include items generously donated by studio sponsors

HOW TO ENTER

• Entries will open on Monday the 24th of February
• To enter, you must fill in the entry form and pay your entry fee via the Pole Divas App
• Entry fee $50 this includes entry to the comp, professional photos of your routine, and a video of your routine

Tricks technique & execution - 10 points
Tricks level of difficulty – 10 points
Movement & musicality – 10 points
Audience connection/showmanship – 10 points
Concept – 10 points

DOUBLES
Mirror Tricks: creativity/synchronicity – 10 points

Base/Flyer Tricks: technique/ execution – 10 points

Movement & musicality – 10 points

Audience connection/showmanship – 10 points

MUSIC

Lyra
• 2.5 minutes for Beginners and Intermediate
• 3 minutes for Advanced and Elite

Silks
• 2.5 minutes for Beginners and Intermediate
• 3 minutes for Advanced 

Doubles and Fas

• 3 minutes 

*Music not to contain excessively explicit language as it is an all ages event.

Music by the following artists cannot be used at Frisk or any Pole & Aerial Divas competitions as they have been convicted or accused of gender-based violence; Chris Brown, Diddy, R Kelly, Tory Lanez, Marilyn Manson

COSTUMES/PROPS

• No nudity or partial nudity. No G-strings or leotards that turn into G-strings once in the Lyra! This is an all-ages event.
• 2x Human Props allowed - they cannot touch the Lyra or silk
• For your safety, no high heels or big platform shoes
• If you wish to use a prop any larger than a chair, please run your ideas by your local studio. Also, any props that make a mess such as glitter and feathers require pre-approval.
