top 5 reasons why Pole is great for your mental health
Hi Divas! My name is Seren – I’m the owner of Pole Divas Prahran and a huge mental health advocate. I’m a big believer in positive conversations surrounding our mental health, recognising that it’s not a weakness and finding meaningful ways to help it improve. It’s no secret pole is great for the body but it’s also great for the mind. Here are my top 5 reasons why Pole is great for your mental health!
Boosts self-esteem: Pole dancing helps to build confidence and self-esteem. It involves learning new skills and mastering them, which can be an awesome source of pride and accomplishment. Additionally, the supportive environment of a pole dance class can help our students feel more confident and positive about themselves.
Reduces stress: Pole can be a great stress reliever! Physical activity helps to release endorphins, which can improve mood and reduce stress levels. Being in class or in practice time requires focus and concentration, which can help to clear the mind and reduce anxiety.
Improves body image: Pole dancing can help improve body image by promoting self-acceptance and body positivity! By learning to appreciate our bodies and what they can do, students develop a more positive relationship with themselves.
Builds community: Pole Divas is a great way to build a sense of community and belonging! It can be hard to make friends as an adult and our classes are always supportive. With students cheering as hard for each other as they do for themselves, this can lead to new friendships and a sense of camaraderie.
